How do you introduce product management into a company that operates as a regulated monopoly, where customers pay roughly 75 euros a year and most of them do not even know the company exists? That is the challenge Alexandre Torreele faces at Elia, Belgium's electricity transmission system operator. At PR_D_CT DAY 2025 in Ghent, he shared the honest story of building product culture inside an organisation where the infrastructure is critical, the processes are deeply established, and the transformation is far from over.
Alexandre's talk stood out because it was not a success story neatly packaged with a bow on top. It was a candid report from someone still in the middle of the work, sharing what went well, what went wrong, and what the biggest remaining challenges are. For product managers working inside large Belgian organisations, this was one of the most relatable talks of the day.
